Privacy policy

The short version: anything you paste into this site is processed by JavaScript in your own browser and is never transmitted. No account is required, nothing is stored, and the only data leaving your device is anonymous page-view analytics.

Last updated: October 11, 2026

What happens to the text you paste

It never leaves your device. The converter and the validator are plain JavaScript files that run in your browser. The generated SKILL.md is assembled on your own machine. There is no server-side component that receives, processes, or stores your input.

You can verify this rather than take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, paste something into the converter, and click convert. You will see the page load and nothing else — no request carrying your text anywhere.

This matters because Gem instructions frequently contain commercial, client, or otherwise sensitive material. That is why there is no account, no save history, no cloud storage, and no analytics event that includes what you typed.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own.

Third-party services may set cookies or use similar technologies. These are governed by their own policies, not this one:

What Google Analytics collects

The site uses Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization, which is Google's default for new properties. It records:

What is never collected

The following are never transmitted to any server, including Google Analytics:

The custom events this site sends are limited to a name and the page it happened on — for example generate_skill on /. No event parameter contains your text.

Why this design

Someone checking a migration before a shutdown deadline is often checking work instructions, not a grocery list. Making the tool work offline removes an entire category of risk and is why the whole thing is client-side.

Children

This site is a technical reference for adults and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Because no account exists and no personal data is collected, there is nothing to export or delete. If you want to stop being counted in the analytics, use the Google opt-out link in the cookies table above. If you have a question about how Google handles analytics data, that is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Third-party links

These pages link to Google's documentation. Once you follow such a link you are on Google's site and their privacy policy applies. This site does not control or endorse third-party sites.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes too, and the revision is recorded in the site's public commit history on GitHub. Any change to what is transmitted will be visible there.
