This site is a free reference tool with no account, no warranty, and no affiliation with Google. Read the second section especially — it is the part that matters if you rely on this before November 17.
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Gemskills Converter provides browser-based tools and reference pages to help people migrate Gemini Gems to Skills. It is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or supported by Google LLC.
Gemini, Gems, Skills, SKILL.md, Google Workspace, and related names and logos are trademarks of Google LLC, used here only to identify what the tool relates to. Their use does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.
This is the most important part of these terms.
Google has announced that Gems will be discontinued for personal accounts on November 17, 2026, and that Gems cannot be created or edited after October 13, 2026. After shutdown, Gemini may not be able to recover your Gem contents.
Export and store your own copies before November 17. Do not rely on this site, or any third-party site, as your only copy of anything.
Suggested order of operations:
SKILL.md files. The step-by-step guide walks through this in order.
The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
In plain terms: this tool may be wrong, out of date, or incomplete, and you use it at your own risk.
The validation rules and reference information on this site were written against Google's public documentation as of October 2026. Google can change the format, the limits, or the migration rules at any time, and this site may not reflect those changes.
Google's own documentation is the only authority. If this site and Google's documentation disagree, Google's documentation is correct and this site is wrong.
A file that passes this validator is not guaranteed to be accepted by Google. A file that fails is not guaranteed to be rejected — the validator checks a documented set of rules, not Google's entire internal behaviour.
SKILL.md before relying on it.You keep all rights to the Gem instructions and SKILL.md files you create here. Because processing happens entirely in your browser, this site never receives that text in the first place. See the privacy policy for details.
The generated files carry no restriction from this site. They are yours to use, modify, and distribute. Do note that your use of Gemini itself remains governed by Google's terms.
The site is provided on an as-available basis. It may be modified, interrupted, or discontinued at any time without notice. No commitment is made to continued availability, and no compensation is offered for any resulting loss.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of this site accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of or inability to use the site, including data loss, loss of functionality, or loss of business opportunity.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
This site links to third-party documentation. Once you follow such a link, the third party's own terms and privacy policy apply. This site does not control and is not responsible for external sites.
These terms may be updated as Google's documentation changes or as the site evolves. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version, and every change is recorded in the site's public commit history on GitHub.
